Founding Advisory & Leadership Council
Morgan Burch
Chief Executive Officer, President
Morgan is a community builder, mother, wife, and founder, passionate about creating spaces where families feel connected, supported, and never alone.
Before founding The Village Within Foundation, Morgan built a successful career in financial services and banking, developing extensive experience in leadership, operations, relationship management, and serving individuals and families throughout North Texas. Her career included overseeing operations across eleven banking centers, leading teams, building community relationships, and helping individuals navigate important financial decisions. She was mentored for several years by some of the top leading Financial Services Female CEOs & Executives in the United States through Women in Insurance and Financial Services, and still has those relationships today. After completing her bachelors degree, Morgan also holds the LUTCF® Designation from The College for Financial Planning.
While her professional career has always been centered around leadership and service, giving back to her community has always been an important part of Morgan’s life. Over the past five years, she has dedicated more than 400 hours to nonprofit and community service, including serving on the board of a local nonprofit. Her commitment to volunteerism, leadership, and community impact has also earned her recognition through several awards and honors: Community Commitment Award, All Pro Award, Rookie of the Year Award, Origin Advisor Nominee, and Brand Promise/Customer Service Award Nominee. Morgan is also currently writing a book, continuing her passion for sharing experiences, lessons, and encouragement with other women and families.
After welcoming her daughter, Morgan began to recognize just how important connection and community are during motherhood. She saw firsthand how easy it can be for moms to feel isolated, overwhelmed, or unsure where to turn for support. What began as a desire to create opportunities for moms to meet one another, grew into a much larger vision: building a true village around families.
Today, Morgan is focused on building a community centered around connection, family support, mental wellness, meaningful experiences, accessible resources, and giving back. Through The Village Within Foundation, she is working to create a place where parents can find friendship, families can find resources, and people can find help when they need it most.
Her belief is simple: It takes a Village - and everyone deserves to have one.
Hailey Carballo
Chief Operating Officer, Vice President
Treasurer
Hailey is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, mother, and co-founder of The Village Within Foundation. She is passionate about building meaningful community, supporting families, and creating spaces where moms can find genuine friendship, connection, and support through every season of motherhood.
Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, Hailey built her career as a Speech-Language Pathologist, working with children and families and developing a deep understanding of the importance of communication, connection, and support during childhood development. Hailey has a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Pathologist, and holds the CCC-SLP Certificate - of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology.
Becoming a mother brought an even deeper perspective to that work.
As a mom herself, Hailey understands the many transitions, challenges, and joys that come with motherhood. She believes strongly in the power of community and knows how meaningful it can be to have people around you who understand your experiences and can walk alongside you through them.
That belief became part of the foundation for The Village Within Foundation—a place created to bring families together, strengthen community connections, provide meaningful resources, and remind parents that they don’t have to navigate life alone.
Hailey brings her professional experience, compassion, and firsthand perspective as a mother to the Foundation’s mission of creating stronger, more connected communities for families.
Outside of The Village, Hailey is a wife and mom to her son, Matthew, and is preparing to welcome her second baby. She enjoys golfing, baking, discovering new restaurants with her husband, and spending time with the people she loves.
For Hailey, The Village is about more than creating opportunities to meet people. It’s about building a community that shows up for families through every season of motherhood.
Because motherhood was never meant to be done alone.

Dr. Afia Twumasi, M.D.
Advisory Council Member
Afia Twumasi-Woodson, M.D., is a board-certified pediatrician, wife, mother, and passionate advocate for children and families. As a pediatric hospitalist, she cares for acutely ill children and their families during some of the most challenging and vulnerable moments of their lives. Through her work, she has witnessed firsthand the profound impact that compassionate support, meaningful relationships, and access to resources can have on a family’s ability to navigate difficult seasons.
A central focus of Afia’s career has been advocating for children and those who care for them. She has volunteered with domestic violence shelters and child development centers and has dedicated much of her professional life to education, mentorship, advocacy, and leadership. During her pediatric residency, she was elected Chief Resident, a role that strengthened her passion for developing others and creating supportive environments in which people can thrive. She now carries that commitment into her work as a pediatric attending, where she mentors trainees and helps prepare the next generation of physicians to provide thorough, evidence-based, and compassionate care.
As a hospital-based pediatrician, Afia has cared for families facing illness, uncertainty, financial challenges, limited support systems, and other barriers that can make an already difficult experience even harder. While hospitals can provide critical medical care and connect families with important resources, she believes that thriving families and children are built through sustained support that extends beyond the walls of the hospital. Families need communities that walk alongside them—not only in moments of crisis, but throughout their everyday lives.
This belief is what drew Afia to The Village Within Foundation. As part of the leadership team, she is passionate about helping build the kind of village every family deserves and is honored to contribute her experience to an organization committed to strengthening families and communities.
